Harness racing may be all right for some people, but I prefer watching the horses.

Sybaritic String Band

The Sybaritic String Band were the feature guests on the January 16th episode. They are a really lively sound, it was a very special episode with a celtic flavor. It was especially pleasing to have them around for the sound circle in the second half giving the three singer songwriters also in house an instant string band.

The four member band on this day consisted of Rich, Barry, and Brian. And they pulled all manner of instrument from a plentiful bag of tricks including fiddles, guitars, bohran, bones, harmonica and more. I had had reservations about doing the sound for this episode but the atmosphere was amazing and the band was very cooperative. And, from what people have told me so far, the broadcast sounded all right. It was more than all right for the performers and myself; a very fun time. The Sybaritic String Band were a first class collective giving first class entertainment.

They were booked through CJSF volunteer Andrew Kurn. Let us hope for some more string bands in the future.
